12 months. I can’t believe how fast it’s gone. Last night, after my brother knocked a cup of water over my iPod on my desk, I found a receipt from a book store dated Jan 11th. I can still remember walking into the store with a book voucher I’d gotten for Christmas. Yet it all felt so strangely odd and far away. Guess that’s time for ‘ya.

It’s been a pretty eventful year for me, completing my AS levels in Sixth Form and moving onto A2s. A few holidays around England, and then a multitude of other events including numerous 18th Birthday parties, setting up SnakeDust and two redesigns of Hybrid Logic meant I was always strapped for time.

So here is my life in 2006, as much a reminder for me than anything else. Damn, I feel old writing this.

Spring

Not much really happened here that I can remember, remember being the operative word. I didn’t stick to any New Year’s resolutions, if I even had any, but I do remember it being damn cold in February as I waited for the bus most mornings. Oh and I redesigned HybridLogic, complete with a brand new code base, but that version is currently on its way out.

Summer

Ahh summer, how much I hate it. Constant migraines from the heat meant that it wasn’t my best time. But the big family holiday to Devon more than made up for it. With over two hundred pictures on flickr from the trip I can certainly look back and remember the highlights.

Autumn

My favourite season, the weathers just beginning to cool, nice summer type rain falls and a beautiful range of colours. Work began on my A2 A-Level projects, including an ICT project for my neighbour which took up a large portion of my time. I also began work on SnakeDust, a socio-political blog by me and some friends which fell stagnant for a few months before…

Winter

SnakeDust took off, literally. The posts kept coming, we were featured in one local newspaper and interviewed for another, but nothing ever came of that. I also began heavy development of an updated version of HybridLogic with the intention of launching on Christmas day, but a sudden bout of flu put paid to that idea. Christmas presents included the usual DVDs etc along with a pair of excellent claw slippers from my parents.

2007

And so on to the new year. Plans? Tonnes, with 4 large projects already lined up for the first few months. And this year I won’t neglect this blog as much. Expect an update at least once a fortnight, with ideas for tutorials constantly buzzing around my head. I suppose the biggest change next year though will be moving to a university after I complete my A-Levels. It’ll be odd, but I’m sure I’ll love the challenges afforded by my time wherever I go.

So here’s wishing everyone who reads this blog a happy new year and good luck in everything they try.
