By Any Other Name

This isn’t going to be another one of those posts about how you should name your variables or if a class should be a verb. Instead it’s about package names.

I’ve released a lot of different apps and libraries. And all, of, them, have, obvious, names. So with my latest apps, I thought fuck it.

I’ve gone for the classic thematic naming scheme. The centre piece is called Elbrus, after the tallest mountain in Europe. Then there’s Scaffle (Pike), the tallest in England. And a little side-util called Ranger after the Ranger path up Snowdon.

It’s been fun, but even now I question the logic. It might be fun, but six months later would app-admin make more sense than app-scaffle?
